In My Mailbox: 19th May

Hi guys, I’d love to hear what you’re adding to your shelves right now!

This is what I picked:

– I have been given this for review, via Netgalley. I’m hoping I’ll love it as much as I did Vampire Academy, all my fingers and toes are crossed!

In a futuristic world nearly destroyed by religious extremists, Justin March lives in exile after failing in his job as an investigator of religious groups and supernatural claims. But Justin is given a second chance when Mae Koskinen comes to bring him back to the Republic of United North America (RUNA). Raised in an aristocratic caste, Mae is now a member of the military’s most elite and terrifying tier, a soldier with enhanced reflexes and skills.

When Justin and Mae are assigned to work together to solve a string of ritualistic murders, they soon realize that their discoveries have exposed them to terrible danger. As their investigation races forward, unknown enemies and powers greater than they can imagine are gathering in the shadows, ready to reclaim the world in which humans are merely game pieces on their board.

– And I still haven’t read Crash, but the cowboy storyline made this seem irresistible. (It’s a bit of a luxury this book.)

Rowen Sterling finds herself on a Greyhound bus to nowhere Montana the summer after she graduates high school. Her mom agreed to front the bill to Rowen’s dream art school only if Rowen proves she can work hard and stay out of trouble at Willow Springs Ranch. Then Jesse Walker saunters into her life wearing a pair of painted-on jeans, a cowboy hat, and a grin that makes something in her chest she’d thought was frozen go boom-boom. Jesse’s like no one else, and certainly nothing like her. He’s the bright and shiny to her dark and jaded.

Rowen knows there’s no happily-ever-after for the golden boy and the rebel girl. But the more she pushes him away, the closer he seems to get. The more she convinces herself she doesn’t care, the harder she falls. When her dark secrets refuse to stay locked behind the walls she’s kept up for years, Rowen realizes it’s not just everyone else she needs to be honest with. It’s herself.

– I love the gentle pace of Jessi Kirby’s novels and so I pre-ordered the hardback of this one.

Seventeen-year-old Parker Frost has never taken the road less traveled. Valedictorian and quintessential good girl, she’s about to graduate high school without ever having kissed her crush or broken the rules. So when fate drops a clue in her lap, a dead girl’s journal, Parker enlists the help of her best friend, Kat, and Trevor, her longtime crush, to track down what really happened to its author. The mystery ends up taking Parker places that she never could have imagined. And she soon finds that taking the road less traveled makes all the difference.

  1. Hi!

I really want to read Lost and Found but I want to finish the Crash series first, I just have Crush left to read,

I haven’t read a Jess Kirby book but I love the sound of Golden.

Great haul and thanks for stopping by my Stacking the Shelves post for this week 🙂

  2. Ooo! I still need to read VA, but Gameboard of the Gods looks awesome! And I love me a good cowboy story, so I’m definitely going to have to look into Lost and Found! Great post and happy reading!
